My practice is private pay, though many of my clients seek reimbursement from their insurance carrier. Clients pay for their session up front, file a claim, and receive reimbursement directly from their carrier. Along with your claim, you’ll need a Superbill—an invoice of our session—which I provide. Please note: Superbills require a formal diagnosis and for this reason, some clients decide not to seek reimbursement for their sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
Prior to starting counseling, please contact your insurance carrier and inquire about your out-of-network benefits.
Here are some starter questions to ask:
Does my insurance plan cover out-of-network providers for mental health treatment?
Will I receive reimbursement for working with Virginia Moore, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC; LH61597872)?
Do I have a out-of-network deductible for mental health treatment, and if so, how much of my deductible has been met?
How much reimbursement will I receive per session?
How do I submit an out-of-network claim?
How long will it take to receive my reimbursement?
Are telehealth sessions covered?
Does my plan limit the number of therapy sessions available?
These questions are not all-encompassing and do not guarantee benefits/coverage. Payment is due at the time of services. Unless previously arranged, all clients are required to keep a credit card on file.
What should I know about reimbursement?
As of January 1, 2022 all healthcare professionals are required to provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) to clients prior to their care. This law helps inform clients of potential expenses, particularly for the uninsured and those opting for private pay.

For those experiencing financial hardship, please consider:

Many graduate school clinics and group private practices offer reduced rates for clients working with an intern. Interns are supervised counselors-in-training and building their clinical experience.
For those exploring Medicaid options, please visit the Washington Healthcare Authority for more information.
Do you have any resources for reduced rate?
If you need to cancel and reschedule your session, please allow 48 business hours notice to avoid paying for your missed appointment.
Please note: Insurance carriers do not reimburse for late cancellations.
