Meet V
Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking
Antonio Machado, Campos de Castilla
Prior to founding Outlier Wellness, V (they/them) served as a community mental health clinician, disaster relief worker, EMT, journalist, and modern dance instructor. They joined the counseling profession to increase visibility for Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and confront systemic practices that pathologize vulnerable communities.
V uses Narrative, Psychodynamic, and Culturally-Responsive approaches to make counseling true to the client’s story and support their intersectional needs.
They completed the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program (TF-CBT) from the University of Washington’s Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center. As a National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellow, V received advanced training in culturally-responsive clinical interventions.
V is a non-binary and Queer therapist, a Korean transracial adoptee, and elder Millennial. Outside of therapy, V is an avid birder, 물 냉 명 (Korean cold soup and noodles) stan, veg grower, and pretend fly fisher.
